Mr. Guglielmo Marconi Raising an Antenna

Welcome!

Welcome to the home of the Society of Newfoundland Radio Amateurs, also known as SONRA!

Our Club is a very active club being involved with a large number of activities and partners. Our partners include Parks Canada (Cabot Tower, Signal Hill National Historic Site), the City of Mount Pearl (Admiralty House Museum and Archives), and Fire and Emergency Services-Newfoundland and Labrador.

Our activities include, but are not limited to: operating Club stations at Cabot Tower (VO1AA), Admiralty House Museum and Archives (VO1BZM), and at Fire and Emergency Services-Newfoundland and Labrador (FES-NL) (VO1EMO); participating in Field Day, International Marconi Day, December 12th celebrations, Canada Winter Contest, Canada Day Contest; providing telecommunications support to FES-NL, the MS-Super Cities Walk, and the St. John's Triathlon; conducting radio amateur education courses; publishing a newsletter (AR' News); administering the VO Callplate service for the province; publishing the VO Callbook, and, of course, the ubiquitous meetings, just to mention a few.

Have a browse through our webpage and see if anything piques your interest. Guests (ham and non-ham alike) are welcome, in fact they are encouraged, at most all of our activities.
